TIME OF ENDS: An Apocalyptic Political Polemic
DOMINION 2024: The Next Civil War

Geoff Robberts is the pseudonym for a pair of concerned old white guys, who observed the increasing divisions in politics and society. They believed that traditional media and its social counterparts had become unhinged, amplifying the voices of cruel and misleading pundits. They noted that the current bell curve of public opinion wasn’t highest in the middle with gradually tapering edges. Statistically, one would expect fewer extremists the farther one moved from the center. Instead, they believe the shape has devolved into barbells, with many more extremists, fewer and fewer centrists.

Geoff imagined a reaction from a man-in-the-middle so incensed by personal tragedy and the hateful rhetoric which followed, that he became a vigilante. His bold actions attracted conspirators who join in seemingly random ways.
The novel was being edited before the January 6 insurrection was unleashed. Robberts’ sad view was that no matter how dramatically the fictional The People’s Second Amendment Militia was presented, they could never have imagined any group storming Congress. For Geoff, the pen is mightier. However, because of the unpredictable and volatile mindset of some of their fellow citizens, they decided to publish under a pseudonym.

Time of Ends was published in 2021 and its sequel Dominion 2024 hit the market in June 2023.

George O’Brien had a long career as a financial and accounting executive for multi-national technology companies. One position took him away from family for a year and a half. So he sat down to write, wanting to fill the lonely evenings. A vague memory, a forgotten picture, or perhaps a line from a history book – one of those got him stirred up about Moundville in western Alabama. He researched, and he wrote, but life got in the way. And the book grew, and grew, and grew. Whoops – 160,000 words. Now there are two books, each narrative separated by 250 years, yet connected by an oral historian – the Trail Talker – who teaches young children about the challenges and heroes of their people.

George has started his research on Volume 3 in the Trail Talker Trilogy, and expects to complete it in late 2023 or early 2024. He is married, with five children and eight grandchildren. Now retired, he and his wife, Paula, play golf and travel when he isn’t writing. They have a list of national parks still to visit, and a couple of favorite Mexican beaches. They split their time between Texas and Massachusetts to follow the seasons and enjoy the grandkids.
